Creating a Flourishing Organisation

Flourishing organisations are those where people feel psychologically safe, where they can grow and learn, where they feel appreciated in their unique gifts.

People flourish in organisational cultures that create a positive growth environment. As positive psychology practitioners, we understand which particular leadership and organisational behaviours and processes contribute to the creation of this kind of workplace, and which don’t.

We use positive psychology and appreciative inquiry to help everyone understand when they are at their best and how to help the organisation be at its best. We work to highlight the best in the organisation, to identify past, present and possible future successes. We help you identify the positive core of your organisation, and how to encourage virtuous circles of performance improvement.

We work with leadership, to help them understand how to create a workplace culture where people can flourish.

Creating a flourishing organisation has many beneficial effects for both individuals and the organisation. For example, it is likely to enhance levels of engagement, which in turn positively enhance the level of goodwill towards the organisation and the willingness of members to contribute discretionary effort.

We have found the specific, large group, technologies that we use, Appreciative Inquiry for example, to be very effective at creating an initial sense of flourishing, and a clear direction towards a flourishing workplace future.
